The RuntimeInterface seam asked the worker one question at a time: a round
trip per loaded extension, per ReflectionExtension::info() output and per
constant, so a single `show --platform` cost 70 to 100 of them. A `platform`
dispatch entry now answers all of it as one PHP array, which shirabe-php-rpc
decodes into a OnceLock-cached PlatformInfo, the way the diagnose command
already works.
Composer\Platform\Runtime therefore has no Rust counterpart any more. Its
work belongs to the running interpreter, and invoke()/construct() could only
be ported as a whitelist that panicked on anything unlisted; it is ported as
PHP into the worker instead, and PlatformRepository reads the answers off
PlatformInfo. Accessors panic on a name the payload does not carry, so the
worker and its consumers cannot drift apart unnoticed.
The tests describe the runtime as payload data where they used to mock the
seam, with the datasets unchanged. The one loss is the call-count assertion
of test_inet_pton_regression: the payload reports the result of
`@inet_pton('::')` rather than answering a call.

Enable clippy::multiple_inherent_impl and fix the 21 sites it reports.
Types whose inherent methods were spread across two or three impl blocks
now keep them in a single block; only the impl headers move, no method
bodies change.

PHP hands back a positional array, so every caller had to reach into a
PhpMixed list by index and fall back to a default when an element was
missing or the wrong variant -- fallbacks that could never fire, since
the list shape is fixed. LicenseMetadata names the four elements and
makes the accesses total.
This also drops the crate's last use of PhpMixed, and with it the
dependency on shirabe-php-shim.

The ported docblocks copied @param and @return straight from the PHP
source. When such a tag carries nothing but a type and an argument name,
the Rust signature already states it, so the line is noise. Tags whose
text adds prose beyond the type are kept.

PHP's JsonFile::encode throws a RuntimeException when json_encode fails; the
port swallowed that into an .unwrap() marked TODO(phase-c). Return
anyhow::Result from encode/encode_with_options and propagate at every call
site (print_table and list_repositories become Result-returning to carry it).

Rust has no runtime class name, so `Command::get_class` existed purely to
let each command hand back its PHP class name, supplied through the
two-argument variant of `delegate_command_trait_impls_to_inner!` at the
impl site. Replace it with a general `PhpClass` trait plus an
`impl_php_class!` macro, so the name is stated once next to the type
definition and the mechanism is reusable outside commands.
`Command` gains `PhpClass` as a supertrait and drops `get_class`, and
`VcsDriverKind`'s hand-rolled `php_class_name` table moves onto the trait.
Behavior is unchanged: the same class-name strings are reported, and the
base command state still panics when asked for a name it cannot supply.

Ports the per-command completion metadata that PHP passes as the
suggestedValues constructor argument, resolving all TODO(cli-completion)
markers:
- CompletionTrait providers on 18 argument/option sites (installed/root/
available package names, package types, prefer-install)
- static value lists (--format on show/outdated/search/fund/licenses/
check-platform-reqs, archive's FORMATS, audit --ignore-severity,
update --bump-after-update, repository's action list)
- command-specific closures: ConfigCommand::suggest_setting_keys,
ShowCommand::suggest_package_based_on_mode, RepositoryCommand's
suggest_repo_names/suggest_type_for_add, exec/run-script inline
closures (downcast from the this argument, as the closures are bound
to their concrete command in PHP)
- GlobalCommand::complete, delegating completion to the wrapped
subcommand through CompletionInput::from_string
- a complete() override on every Composer command forwarding to
base_command_complete (BaseCommand inheritance restoration)
Also fixes CompleteCommand to call merge_application_definition(true) as
PHP's default-argument call does; with false the application-level
"command" argument was missing from the bound definition, shifting every
argument-position detection by one.

InputArgument/InputOption
Composer backports symfony/console 6.1's $suggestedValues parameter in
Composer\Console\Input\{InputArgument,InputOption}; the Rust newtypes had
dropped it. PHP closures are bound to the command ($this), but a command
cannot capture a handle to itself while configure() runs inside new(), so
the closure receives the bound command as an explicit `this` argument at
call time instead.
- add SuggestedValues (list | this-taking closure) and wire it through
InputArgument::new5 / InputOption::new6 and their complete() methods
- track Composer-typed definition entries by name in BaseCommandData side
maps, standing in for PHP's instanceof checks (set_definition converts
entries to the Symfony types for storage)
- add base_command_complete, the BaseCommand::complete dispatch shared by
every Composer command
- introduce BaseCommand::base_command_data and make command_data a default
method on top of it

The _complete and completion commands were registered but always panicked:
get_class_of_command / instantiate_completion_output / tail_debug_log were
todo!() and the completion.bash resource was not shipped.
- make Command::complete return anyhow::Result so completion errors
propagate to CompleteCommand's catch-all (exit code 2) like PHP
- add Command::get_class as the port hook for PHP's get_class() debug log;
every command supplies its PHP FQCN via the delegation macro
- embed Resources/completion.bash at compile time (single-binary port);
get_supported_shells becomes a static list
- implement tail_debug_log by moving the shared output handle into the
'static process callback
- add OutputInterface::as_console_output so unsupported-shell errors go to
stderr as in PHP
- fix CompletionInput::bind to keep the argument name PHP assigns in the
foreach head even when the loop breaks on the first unset argument;
application-level completion always hit this and returned no suggestions

PHP's ArrayRepository::count()/hasPackage() call $this->initialize(),
which late-binds to the concrete repository class and lazily loads its
packages. The Rust pass-throughs skipped that: they ran ArrayRepository's
stub initialize instead, returning 0/false and marking the repository
initialized with an empty package list, which made ensure_initialized()
skip the real initialization forever after.
Take &mut self in RepositoryInterface::count/has_package so the lazy
repositories (Filesystem, Platform, Composer) can guard with their real
initialize, and return Result from has_package since that initialization
can fail (PHP propagates the exception). InstallerInterface::is_installed
and InstallationManager::is_package_installed/mark_alias_installed
propagate the same way, which also resolves the TODO(phase-d) markers on
Package/Path/Artifact/Vcs repositories about initialization errors being
swallowed.

repo bugs
Replace the PhpMixed-based `$showWarnings` hack in VersionSelector::
findBestCandidate with a typed ShowWarnings enum (Always / Predicate),
letting ShowCommand::findLatestPackage pass its real closure instead of
hardcoding `true`. Fix the --no-dev branch in ShowCommand::execute,
which built `repos` from an empty package list instead of sharing the
same InstalledRepository as `installed_repo`. Pass repository handles
instead of pre-borrowed `&dyn RepositoryInterface` refs into get_package/
generate_package_tree/add_tree to stop a RefCell double-borrow panic on
--all/--locked. Add the missing CompletePackage/RootPackage
set_release_date setter so the outdated sorting-by-age test can set
fixture dates. Resolve OutputFormatterStyleStack::pop's empty-style
todo!() via clone_box(), and fix FileDownloader's cache-GC log call to
pass the VERY_VERBOSE verbosity PHP uses.

regex::Regex::clone() does not share the underlying meta engine's
search-cache pool, so every fresh clone pays a ~10us warmup cost on
its first use. Two changes together eliminate this across nearly all
preg_* call sites:
- A php_regex! macro resolves PHP-style patterns to a per-call-site
&'static regex::Regex (via regex-macro's LazyLock), applied at the
majority of call sites throughout the codebase.
- Call sites still passing dynamic pattern strings go through
PATTERN_CACHE, which now stores Arc<(Regex, bool)> and hands out
Arc::clone()s instead of cloning the Regex itself.
PregPattern::resolve() returns a ResolvedPattern enum (Arc or
'static reference) rather than an owned Regex, so neither path ever
clones the Regex proper.

flattenRepositories must recurse into InstalledRepository (which extends
CompositeRepository in PHP) and ShowCommand must unwrap FilterRepository
when categorizing repos. Without this, installed/locked/platform packages
all fell through to the "available" bucket, dropping the version column
and per-section grouping. Un-ignores 10 show_command tests.

Three porting mismatches caused show/info output to diverge from PHP:
- "not found" hint appended " in /composer.json" whenever the
working-dir key existed; PHP uses isset(), which is false for the
null default. Now only appended when the value is non-null.
- printPackages and generatePackageTree inserted "" for a missing
description instead of null, so isset() rendered a spurious trailing
space (and JSON emitted "" instead of null). Both now preserve null.
Un-ignores the eight rendering-gap tests these fix (plus one already
passing), and rewrites the remaining ignore reasons to name the real
blocker (package categorization, --no-dev filtering, RefCell borrow,
installer resolution) instead of a stale generic message.

The compiler confirms none of the call sites invoke a &mut self method

needed and only risked borrow check conflict. Switch every site to the

helper.

ShowCommand::configure registered an empty set_definition (placeholder), so every
show invocation failed with option/argument-does-not-exist. Port the full
argument/option list (package, version, --all/--locked/--installed/--platform/
--available/--self/--tree/--latest/--outdated/--format/... ) from PHP
ShowCommand::configure. Completion-suggestion closures and the format allowed-value
list are dropped to match the current InputArgument/InputOption API.
Un-ignores 14 ShowCommandTest cases; the remaining 28 keep faithful bodies but
stay ignored (show-rendering output gaps and remote-HTTP paths), reasons updated.

The Command trait and Composer's BaseCommand took &mut self, so dispatch
held a borrow_mut on the command's RefCell for the whole call. A command
re-entering itself (e.g. the help command describing itself) then panicked
with "RefCell already borrowed".
All Command/BaseCommand methods now take &self and the command state is
interior-mutable (Cell/RefCell). Shared borrows coexist, so re-entrant
describe paths no longer conflict. Getters that returned references now
return Ref guards; the descriptor describe_* methods take &dyn Command;
mixin accessors return Ref/RefMut.

Extract a superclass-trait EventInterface from the base Event.
pool_builder's PrePoolCreateEvent stays deferred: its constructor needs

Implement the foundational PhpMixed conversion infrastructure
(From<bool|i64|f64|String>, order-sensitive PartialEq matching PHP ===)
and resolve the category-G phase-b TODOs that depend on it:
- Fix VCS driver cache paths that discarded parsed JSON or diverged on
null caches (svn/forgejo/gitlab/git-bitbucket/github).
- Wire up real conversions previously stubbed or dropped: suggests
platform config, audit ignore-severities, composer_repository search
and ProviderInfo, class_loader prefix/classmap merges, locker lock
diff comparison, advisory JSON serialization, SPDX license fields.
- Make GenericRule take a typed ReasonData; populate RULE_ROOT_REQUIRE
with the constraint and convert PhpMixed at the call sites.

Resolve category F phase-b TODOs (class-string, instanceof, get_class,
method_exists, __FILE__, Reflection API, downcast).
- VcsRepository: dispatch drivers through a VcsDriverKind enum
(instantiate/supports/php_class_name) and add constructors to the
concrete VCS drivers
- repository downcasts via RepositoryInterfaceHandle::downcast_rc and
as_any (init/show commands, vcs ValidatingArrayLoader)
- BaseCommand::is_self_update_command override replaces an instanceof
- Factory::create narrows PartialComposer to ComposerHandle via as_full
- InstalledVersions gains set_self_dir/set_installed_is_local_dir,
replacing Reflection-based static property mutation
- ClassLoader::as_array_iter ports the PHP (array) cast
- drop the unnecessary __FILE__ phar branch in self-update
application get_class(command) reclassified TODO(plugin); buffer_io
StreamableInputInterface downcast and the ValidatingArrayLoader trait
redesign left as tracked TODOs.

PHP mutator methods that the Phase B port could not call because only
&self / &dyn / Rc access was available. Resolved by the interior-mutation
APIs that already exist: handle &self setters (set_dist/source_reference,
set_requires/dev/references/stability_flags), Rc<RefCell<dyn InputInterface>>
.borrow_mut(), and get_installation_manager().borrow_mut() (build_package_map
passes an empty/canonical package list per upstream). composer.get_package()
returns &RootPackageInterfaceHandle, so the "&dyn" Phase B note was wrong.
factory's set_config_source/set_auth_config_source were already live code;
their stale TODOs are removed.

PHP shares a single PlatformRepository by reference across the RepositorySet,
createRequest, VersionSelector, and (in show) the installed repository. The
port worked with owned values / &mut, so it could not share: create_repository_set
silently dropped the platform repo from the pool (PlatformRepository is not
Clone), show rebuilt a fresh PlatformRepository per use, and the package
discovery / show version selectors were stubbed because VersionSelector wanted
an owned RepositorySet.
Thread the existing PlatformRepositoryHandle (Rc<RefCell<PlatformRepository>>)
through installer.rs and show, restoring the RootPackageRepository + platform
repo registration and implementing same_repository via RepositoryInterfaceHandle
ptr_eq. Hold package-discovery repos as a shared RepositoryInterfaceHandle, and
share RepositorySet as Rc<RefCell<RepositorySet>> in the set caches and
VersionSelector (which only reads it), unblocking both stubbed selector sites
and dropping show's placeholder set.

Replace TODO(phase-b) placeholders (todo!() and commented-out code)
with real implementations:
- Share JsonFile via Rc<RefCell<JsonFile>> so JsonConfigSource and the
owning command can hold the same instance (base_config_command,
config_command, repository_command, require_command, create_project,
remove_command, factory)
- Change InstallerInterface methods (is_installed, download, prepare,
cleanup, get_install_path) to &mut self so initialize_vendor_dir can
run, propagated to all installer implementations
- Pass io/config/filesystem/process by clone instead of moving or
stubbing (auth_helper, svn_driver, curl_downloader, library_installer)
- Make TransportException Clone and store it by value in VcsRepository
- Clone operations in Transaction sort, root_aliases/temporary_constraints
in RepositorySet::create_pool, and share CompletePackage via handle in
PlatformRepository
- Wire up set_option, set_requires/set_dev_requires, installation manager
setters, BumpCommand::set_composer, and clean_backups/set_local_phar

The repository type check was an internal invariant, not a recoverable
error condition. Replace the Result-returning validation with an

Resolve the phase-b TODO that left the supported-link-types loop as dead
code (links were always an empty Vec), so requires/conflicts/provides/
replaces/require-dev are dumped again via
PackageInterface::get_links_for_type, matching the PHP magic-call loop.
Every Link in production is constructed with a pretty constraint (all
ArrayLoader/AliasPackage/PlatformRepository/InstalledRepository sites
pass one), so make Link::pretty_constraint a required String instead of
Option<String>. get_pretty_constraint() now returns &str directly rather
than anyhow::Result<&str>, dropping the unreachable
UnexpectedValueException guard, and all call sites are updated.

Change RepositoryInterface and WritableRepositoryInterface read methods
(find_package, find_packages, get_packages, load_packages, search,
get_providers, get_canonical_packages) to take &mut self and return
anyhow::Result, so lazy-loading repositories such as ComposerRepository
can perform fallible I/O and mutate internal state on access. Update all
implementors and call sites to propagate the Result and pass mutable
references.

Replace the i64 bitmask + encode_with_indent split with a JsonEncodeOptions
struct (Default = JSON_UNESCAPED_SLASHES|JSON_PRETTY_PRINT|JSON_UNESCAPED_UNICODE,
default indent). encode/write each get a default form plus an explicit
encode_with_options/write_with_options variant, mirroring PHP's optional
$options argument. write_with_options always encodes with self.indent, matching
PHP write().
Also reconcile call sites with the PHP sources: most ported sites passed 0 where
Composer omits the argument (= default flags), so JsonManipulator/ShowCommand and
JsonConfigSource now use the default options; only ComposerRepository and Locker
genuinely pass 0.

Package/CompletePackage/RootPackage
Fill the trait-impl todo!() across the package accessor layer so loaded
packages are actually usable (the ArrayLoader::load path depends on it):
- Package: implement BasePackage/PackageInterface from struct fields and
existing inherent methods; Display via get_unique_name.
- CompletePackage: delegate PackageInterface to inner Package.
- RootPackage: delegate CompletePackageInterface/PackageInterface to inner
CompletePackage; RootPackageInterface link setters delegate to Package.
Correct three unfaithful trait signatures found during implementation:
- get_target_dir returns Option<String> (PHP computes a normalized value;
a borrow cannot represent it, and AliasPackage could not implement &str
across its aliasOf handle).
- RootPackageInterface link setters take IndexMap<String, Link>, matching
Package and the real ArrayLoader caller (PHP RootPackage inherits
Package::setRequires; the Link[] docblock was imprecise).
- get_full_pretty_version takes a DisplayMode enum instead of a raw i64;
the match is now exhaustive, so it returns String without an error path.
Move mirror conversion to the boundaries: PackageInterface mirror methods
use Vec<Mirror> (the typed form, matching the inherent methods), with
array<->Mirror conversion done by the producer (ComposerRepository) and
consumer (ArrayDumper).

Share LockArrayRepository via Rc<RefCell<_>> while preserving the PHP
?LockArrayRepository type strength: Request.locked_repository, Locker
::get_locked_repository, and the installer create_* helpers now thread
the typed handle instead of an owned LockArrayRepository, and pool
builder identity check becomes a strict ptr_eq via widening into
RepositoryInterfaceHandle.
